Burnish and Black

Burnish & Black Jewellery Design is the brainchild of recent Middlesex University graduates Katrina Nolan and Louise Payjack-Guillou. The brand aims to offer 'contemporary jewellery with a twist'.

Their preoccupation is to re-work and re-design existing forms. The starting point for the debut collection, 'Changeables', takes particular interest in antique clocks and spoons, making them relevant and wearable for today's fashion aware shoppers.

The 'Deviant' collection includes one-off ideas that don't 'fit' within a specific body of work and allow for designs to develop spontaneously into stand-alone pieces.

All the pieces are handmade by Katrina and Louise in their London studios, using a mixture of precious materials and found objects.
