About us..

Budoshinkai Karate was founded in 1974 by a group of like-minded karateka who thrived on the study of the traditional Shotokan style of Karate. Through it's chief instructor Sensei Dermot Kilmurray, the club went on to successes too many to mention. both at local and national level for the next twenty five years, when the club was dissolved.

It was felt by many previous students of Budoshinkai that there is a need for the type of karate that we practised, and so after long discussion the club returned under the auspices of Sensei Dermot Kilmurray 5th dan and his team of very talented and experienced instructors, Sensei Michaela Ormston 4th dan and Sensei Stephanie Lee 2nd dan.
