More about Brynarth Country Guest House

Brynarth Country Guest House is nestled in rural splendor amongst some of the most stunning scenery in the Ystwyth Valley. It is owned and run by James Dwyer & Stuart Betts and is situated within the beautiful countryside in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. This 17th Century farmhouse and it’s barns have been tastefully and sympathetically renovated in keeping with Brynarth’s age and time in history, with 2 acres of bluebell woods included within it’s 8 acres of grounds. Brynarth is ideally located to access not only the many attractions in Ceredigion and it’s beautiful coastline, The Ystwyth and Elan Valleys but is close enough to easily enjoy the bustling coastal towns of Aberystwyth, Aberaeron and New Quay. We are mid-way between the towns of Aberystwyth and Lampeter and are an ideal place to stay if you are visiting either Aberystwyth or Lampeter University - indeed we are a favoured haunt of many of the students’ parents who prefer not to stay in the town.

This area is a paradise for walking offering numerous paths, forestry tracks and bridleways, as well as more challenging routes to cater for more extreme walkers, all within easy reach of Brynarth.

Cyclists can follow dedicated cycle-paths and byways that pass directly through this area and are free from heavy traffic with breathtaking views. You can join the Ystwyth Trail half a mile from Brynarth, this family friendly trail is traffic free with a gentle terrain. We also have secure storage to lock your cycles up at night. Here at Brynarth we are happy to welcome motorcyclists, as well as a large car park we offer secure, covered parking for motorcycles.

Brynarth hosts an abundance of wildlife, including regular fly-pasts by red kites, successfully re-populating this area of Mid-Wales, we are in an ideal location to access many Nature Reserves offering spectacular landscapes and wildlife in their natural habitat, Cors Ian Nature Reserve is 400 yards from us.

There are many different paths to take and seats upon which to sit and read, or simply enjoy a drink whilst the sun sets in the perfect peace and quiet. Crystal clear spring water comes down from the mountains to supply Brynarth even through the driest of summers. A two and a half acre wood is a good place to hide away and in May becomes a blanket of bluebells. If you are looking for an escape from the hurly burly of city life or are in need of rejuvenating yourself in a caring and warm atmosphere with excellent food and nurturing surroundings then look no further.
