I can't start without mentioning my mentor and father Peter James Brooker (1922 - 2004). Dad started the business in 1947 just after the war, I was born in 1967, just about the time when Dad hade the Octopus rings for the James Bond film. Dad started teaching me jewellery when I was about 10 years old. In 1980 he was commissioned to make the rings for the Flash Gordon film, I watched the whole process and guess what? he made an extra two just for me!

At the age of 16 I left school and got down to learning The Trade. We moved to a workshop in Manor Road and then onto Sandgate Road in Folkestone.

I learnt how to restore precious pieces of jewellery, modern and Antique. I also cover high quality repairs, returning customers jewellery to them looking like new.

Every piece of handmade jewellery is hallmarked with my own personal maker's mark which is 'AJB', this simply stands for Ashley James Brooker. As well as the makers mark there is a date letter and a mark depicting the percentage of gold, plus where the hallmark to place.

You will notice as this page grows that all my designer pieces are no less than 18ct. My way of thinking is this is the best you can get, 9ct being a lot paler and 22ct being a lot softer and more of an orange yellow.

I design jewellery to your own requirements; I have contacts with gem dealers Diamonds, Rubies, Tourmaline, Emeralds, Sapphires, Opals, Tanzanite, so whether its the more unusual gems I can source the right stones for you.

I also stock a different range of good silver jewellery for all ages to include some special bridesmaids jewellery to go with your beautiful bespoke AJB designer rings.

The craftsmanship is of the highest order, the attention to detail painstaking; I would not have it any other way. I cater for everyone also taking on high quality repairs and restoration of modern and antique jewellery.
