Welcome to the Shepherds Hut at @BroadOakTroutLakes.
Our hand build hut is perfect for a relaxing escape from the rat-race, located at the far end of our beautiful trout fishery
Enjoy cosy evenings by the wood-burning stove, or watching the wildlife from the deck overlooking Acorn Lake.
The hut is off-grid so reading and playing cards is by 12-volt light, tea-light lanterns, or even moonlight. Or wind up the radio to catch up on the world. Water comes into the hut by means of the antique marine hand pump. Warm water? Fill the kettle and boil it on the camp-stove. The ‘kitchen’ is equipped with all the necessary pots and crocks, including a toasting fork!
You have your own earth-closet near-by, or there are conventional loos at the fishing lodge (300m). No shower.
You will park your car by the fishing lodge too.
What is provided? All bedding and towels; quilts, blankets and pillows galore. Fully equipped kitchen area, easy chair, stools, drop-down table, multi-fuel stove, gas BBQ outside with chairs and table on the deck.
A welcome hamper with necessities like tea/coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter and cake is included.
Bring your wellies, water-proofs and a torch but leave your worries and stress at the gate.
No need for those!
