Bowland Montessori Preschool

Bowland Montessori is a small pre school based in the centre of Clitheroe. I am a trained primary school / Montessori teacher with 28 years experience and I run the school with the help of a nursery nurse. We limit our numbers to 13 children per 3 hour session. Although we are based in the town, we are within easy walking distance of open countryside and spend a lot of our time outdoors in all weather! A river runs along side our school and we feed the ducks everyday. We also, for example, heat water on an open fire to make hot chocolate and build dens in the pre school gardens.

Pre school children are entitled to15 hour of free education each week. Most parents enrol their children for either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons per week. There is flexibility though, for example, some children attend pre school 2 full days and 1 morning, the choice is yours. There is also the option to exceed the 15 hours but any extra sessions must be charged for. We are open from 9 am to 3pm every week day. Before and after school care can also be offered. The pre school follows term times.

We encourage children to come along for a series of taster sessions prior to starting pre school. These sessions are free and parents are welcome to stay.
