Formed in the 1940s West Exe Motors was purchased in 1984 by Alan Collins. After spending his early career with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, providing mechanical support to Stirling Moss, Nicki Lauder and Derek Warwick, amongst others, Alan decided to bring his expertise to the motorists of Devon.

Over the years since then, West Exe Motors have expanded our range from basic service and repair to offer the complete “one stop motoring shop” we have tyres at very competitive prices, wheel balancing and puncture repairs. We have also the latest A/C diagnostic equipment for all aspects of air conditioning servicing - did you know that air conditioning units need to be serviced and disinfected every two years to stop those musty smells and bacteria forming?

West Exe Motors is a brake safety centre - when was the last time your brake fluid was changed or even tested?

The fully qualified diagnostic team are experts on Citroens and Peugeots, and West Exe Motors have the latest V-Tech diagnostic equipment for everything else, including imports.

We also have the expertise and care to cope with your classic car too, Alan’s personal 1965 E-type Jaguar is maintained to a high standard in our workshop, plus we carry out all MOT’s for our local Morris Minor specialist.

West Exe Motors is approved by VOSA to be able to test class 5 light vehicles, which is any Minibus up to 5 tonnes gross weight.
