More about Black Hangar Studios

BLACK HANGAR STUDIOS is fast becoming one of the major Studios & Producers in the UK.
Replicating the Golden years of Hollywood when Studios had their own production crews and creative talent that moved from one production to another, creating a finely tuned and experienced in-house team to deliver the highest production value possible. The studio facilities include well-appointed office space, edit suites for picture and sound, colourgrade, cyclorama and full picture deliverables including 35mm.

During the last two years the BHS team have produced and Co-Produced numerous productions of varying scale and budget. For Miracle Landing On The Hudson - we created the biggest exterior green screen in the world, the biggest ever outdoor water tank, and we used the UK's biggest crane to lift a fully dressed 737 plane into the temporary tank - and then flash filled the tank with 8m litres of water, to allow chronological shooting to match the action. To complete the look we delivered some 200 VFX shots. Breaking the Bank - aside from stage/offices/workshop hire -- we were responsible for: product placement, car pool, set build, VFX (300+ shots), digital lab, conform, offline & online suites, music supervision, music re-records and picture delivery (including 35mm and DCP).

Born To Be Blue – a UK / Canada Co production feature with Ethan Hawke as Chet Baker. Black Hangar Studios handled all the post production; online and offline edit, VFX (some 100 shots), beautification, ageing (young Chet, old Chet), conform, colour grade, music re-records and full picture delivery including 35mm prints.

Breaking The Bank and Born to be Blue, which were shown to great acclaim at TIFF and opened the New Orleans Film Festival, are due to be released later this year by Universal.

In-between our own productions we have facilitated Productions such as Salmon Fishing in The Yemen (Ewan McGregor), How to Kill Your Friends (Nicolas Hoult), 24: Live another day (Kiefer Sutherland), Dark Tide (Halle Berry) and a range of commercials and music promos, including various TV shows such as BBC's Top Gear to ITV's recent Peter Pan Production Wendy and Peter.
