Birmingham Buddhist Centre

The Birmingham Buddhist Centre is part of the worldwide Triratna Buddhist Community (formerly known as the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order, or FWBO), which was founded in 1967 by Sangharakshita. The Triratna Buddhist Community makes Buddhism and meditation accessible as a living tradition in the modern world.

Our Centre in Moseley is the heart of a network of spiritual friendships. Some members live together, others live with their families or alone. We practise and teach meditation and Buddhism to anyone who is interested. We welcome visits from schools, colleges, interfaith groups and other interested parties, or can arrange visiting speakers and meditation teachers. We also lead Buddhist funerals.

Attached to the centre is a small shop offering a wide range of Buddhist literature, meditation and yoga equipment, incense, cards, Buddhist figures, and more. The centre also has a well kept garden at the rear which is available to use as a quiet space by our visitors. We also have shrine rooms that can be used, by arrangement, for silent meditation and a library where you are welcome to come and study the wisdom of the Buddha.
