Betty's Silver Linings Ltd

Welcome to Betty's Silver Linings Ltd we are a non-profit organisation founded by Georgina Smedley, 17 (at the time) in October 2014. Georgina had one aim and that was simply to help the community in as many ways as we could. We started by up-cycling furniture and household goods and selling them at low and affordable prices for the surrounding community. This was simply done online. However, many supporters asked ourselves where are shop was, when we said we do not have one we were asked for one. In October we opened our first shop, 14 King Street Wallasey CH44 8AU. We have raised awareness and money for different charities after opening the shop. In December our storage unit prices went up so it turned out to be cheaper to get a second shop, 207 Seabank Rd CH45 1HD. We hope to turn our Seabank shop into a community cafe/library as well as having your little bits of bric-brac and furniture like the old thrift shops.
We help the Friends of Birkenhead Kennels all year round (as this is Georgina's chosen charity) but, at the end of every three months a charity chosen by you (the public/supporters) is supported by ourselves. This therefore means different charities will benefit. Help us to stop as much waste as possible, please if you have any unwanted items or have been let down on a collection please message/ring us. Alongside the shops we go out on a Wednesday night to hand out clothing, blankets, sleeping bags etc. to the homeless. We have helped a number of people transition from the streets to housing by donating them a furniture starter pack and a kitchen starter pack to suit their individual needs we also hand these packs out to domestic violence survivors.
We help the homeless as well as domestic violence survivors get jobs by donating them interview clothes and find any necessary equipment they need such as working boots/wheelies.
