Meet Bertie!

Bertie is an odd fellow, he is very curious about the world around him and loves nothing more than going exploring and discovering new things. He loves to run around (however, he can be a little too eager and can be quite clumsy with that big tail of his!) and when he has worn himself out he likes to take naps in the sun.

He is kind-hearted and thoughtful and possesses a sense of child-like wonder. He loves making new friends and showing them all of his favourite places in Prince Bishops Shopping Centre.

He has a cheeky sense of humour and enjoys making visitors laugh. He loves
playing games like hide-and-seek around his favourite places in Durham.
He also has a sweet tooth - look out Sweet Tooth Delivery!

His favourite treats are cupcakes and doughnuts (especially the ones with pink
icing) and he is easily distracted when he smells a café or cake shop nearby!

Bertie first came to Durham as an egg which floated along the River Wear and
hatched on the banks of the peninsula on which sits the famous Durham
Cathedral, before coming to Prince Bishops, which is where he now calls home!

His full name is Cuthbert as he was named in honour of St Cuthbert,
although he likes Bertie for short. If you see him he loves nothing more
than a friendly wave - just watch out if you’re carrying yummy snacks as
he might just help himself!
