More about Behind The Noise

Behind The Noise is a ‘real world’ music and business education programme developed by Scotland’s Music Hall Of Fame and Doghouse Studios. In 2011, Gary Condie of Glasgow City Council’s ‘Determined To’ team identified a need for senior school students to engage with and gain more of an understanding of the various jobs and career paths that exist within the music industry. A pilot programme began in 5 Glasgow schools in order to assess the viability and determine the reaction of both students and teachers alike…it was a resounding success!

In year 2, world leading sound system manufacturer, ‘Linn Products’, joined the programme offering financial support and assistance in the development of Behind The Noise [BTN]. This enabled the programme to engage with 14 schools in Glasgow involving over 150 students.

Year 3 began in September 2013 and we are delighted to announce our latest partnership with James Cunningham, music co-ordinator of Renfrewshire Council’s Education and Leisure Services. With the addition of all 13 schools in Renfrewshire, BTN will now be engaging with 27 schools throughout Glasgow and Renfrewshire.
