BAM - Winterbourne International Academy

Our work will be delivered in three phases.

The project comprises over 11,000 sqm of new buildings and 5,000 sqm of refurbished and retained accommodation. We have worked closely with the Academy to find a way of building thathas removed the need for temporary accommodation and avoid disruption to the Academy’s day to day business

Phase 1 involves the construction of an extension to the Academy’s existing Technology Block to house three new engineering workshops and an engineering and design biased ICT suite. This phase is due for completion in December 2012 Then we will demolish the existing engineering workshops to make wayfor for a new a new three storey Academy building within the courtyard of the existing teaching blocks. This new Academy building will have music, science, mathematics, english, humanities, modern foreign languages and art departments along with an extended sixth form area, new kitchen and dining facilities, Learning Resource Centre, Interactive Theatre and Main Hall.

We will be extending the existing drama hall and creating additional drama workshops within the retained Arts centre. Phase 2 will be completed in the summer of 2014.

When the Academy moves into the new facilities we will demolish the existing Academy buildings and complete of the hard and soft landscaping works around the campus. During Phase 3, we will be creating new outdoor teaching and socialising spaces, an amphitheatre style seating area and a covered external dining space. These outdoor spaces will be set within landscaped and planted zones.
