More about Ashlea Thoughts Music

Ashlea is a 24 year old English piano tutor. She has a passion for music, in particular Classical and Blues.

With a BA (Hons) in Music Culture & Theory, and a Certificate of Creative Writing from London Academy of Music, she strives to learn something new within the arts everyday.

Beginning her career after leaving Epping Forest College with a BTech National Diploma in Music (Distinction), Ashlea continued studying the piano and theory through Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music.

Having worked in music schools and studios and interned for The Amy Winehouse Foundation throughout her working career, Ashlea thrives around all musical aspects of life.

Starting to teach group classes of children aged between 5 - 18, Ashlea moved onto teaching private classes studying ABRSM and Trinty College exams. She specialises in advanced composition, interpretation and expression through Classical and Blues.

Ashlea has taken numerous courses in teaching music and behaviour management so you can feel assured you or your family are in safe hands.

After travelling to Inida to teach Music and English to 300 orphaned children, Ashlea has taught herself to teach by means of fun and engagement, other then just verbally lecturing - as she doesn't speak a word of Hindi! This has developed her skills to become a driven and inspirational tutor.

She has taught in all corners of London teaching Jazz, Classical, Blues and Modern music and is enthusiastic to fuse all aspects of formal music training, street music and niche music groups to create a completely unique and diverse teaching method.

"My approach to music tuition involves finding the pupils individual style as a musician. I will then create a teaching style to suit their needs as an individual.

In terms of exam preparation, I follow the chosen exam board syllabus, however, I make sessions approachable, fun and inspiring.
I believe no musician is wrong in their style, some just need neatening up a tad and a little more practice.

I will provide a personal workbook and practice guide, which will help us the monitor your progress weekly to guarantee your musical success." - Ashlea (2016).
