More about Apple Tree Childcare

At Apple Tree Childcare your child’s safety is always of primary importance to us and our home has therefore been designed with young children fully in mind. Situated on the coastline, we are just 10 minutes walk away from some lovely beaches, a number of parks and the historic village of Rottingdean.

Due to popular demand we are in the process of expanding the range of outdoor activities that we provide, to include a fully enclosed and heated garden based activity centre, outdoor explore and learn activities, care for our animals (rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens) and a growing patch that provides fruit, vegetables and herbs for our meals – including apples from our apple tree!!

We are able to accommodate up to nine children within our enhanced childcare facilities, employing one or two qualified assistants (*) at any one time and thereby ensuring that childminder to child ratios are maintained at the generous levels we are committed to. However, please hurry as spaces do fill up quickly whenever they become available.

We provide a highly personable and flexible childcare service that we are certain you will be delighted with. Here are some of the reasons why we believe our childcare service is best for both you and your child:
123
Highest quality, local childcare service
Home from home environment
Ideal alternative to a nursery or crèche
Very flexible, full time working hours from 8am to 6pm, all year round
All children aged between 3 months and 5 years old welcome
Specialist provision and environment for babies aged 3 months or more
Holiday club for children up to 8 years old
Your child benefits from a highly stimulating, nurturing environment and collaborative play sessions with up to eight other children (but without excessively large groups as is often the case in nurseries)
Generous childminder to child ratios – not more than three children per childminder (compared with up to thirteen children per assistant in nurseries)
Purposely limited capacity so that we can get to know your child individually
Extremely personable service tailored to your child’s needs
Highly focused on outings, garden based activities, plenty of fresh air and growing up green
Your child’s personal development is based upon plenty of real life, outdoor based activities and situations, not just nursery based play
Your child’s development is fully structured, based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
Makes your child’s transition from home to school as easy and relaxed as possible
Ongoing observations regarding your child’s development together with progress reports provided each term via our Baby’s Days web based software
Pick up service available from local schools and nurseries in Ovingdean, Rottingdean, Roedean, Saltdean and surrounding areas
Homemade and healthy food, with ingredients also coming from our vegetable and fruit garden
Bi-lingual, we can offer Russian based language development for your child if you require
Exceptional, value for money childcare
Resident Early Years Teacher (highest possible qualification in childcare)
Safe, caring, nurturing
Highly professional

(*) All childcare assistants that we employ have at least a Level 2 Early Years practitioner qualification in childcare and are carefully selected by us to ensure that they share our caring, nurturing values and the high professional standards that we seek.
