More about Allington Hughes Law

At Allington Hughes we are very proud of our historical roots. The firm began back in 1826 when Thomas Hughes set up business as a Solicitor in Wrexham. After many years, the firm became known as Allington Hughes and Bate and in 1986 Allington Hughes and Bate merged with David Hughes and Co, a company which had been set up in Chester back in 1912. The combined practice became known as Allington Hughes, a convenient and continued recognition of the two former names. The firm has continued to grow and in 2010, Allington Hughes merged with David Spalding Solicitor. In 2011 the firm became a Legal Disciplinary Practice by appointing Alison Stace, a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, as a Partner. Alison is the first non-solicitor lawyer to become a Partner of Allington Hughes.

On the 1st September 2013, in an exciting development, Allington Hughes Limited acquired Cyfraith JRL Law, based in Llanrwst. The Llanrwst office will continue trading as JRL Law and will continue to offer specialist advice in all existing areas, in particular Agriculture Law. Allington Hughes Limited also coupled this expansion with the addition of two highly experienced directors in the Wrexham office, Ian Lewis and Rachel Wynn Jones.

We are independent and act in the best interests of our Clients. Many organisations try and refer you to their own Solicitor often receiving commission or a referral fee. We at Allington Hughes are extremely proud that we rely upon our reputation and integrity and do not enter into any financial referral arrangements with any introducer to the firm.

We are listed in the “Legal 500” independent research book as one of the top 500 providers of specialist legal advice.

Our reputation has evolved over more than 180 years due to our commitment to ensuring that the legal advice we provide to our Clients is specialist, efficient, practical and reasonably priced.

Allington Hughes is proud of its succession planning which will ensure the longevity of the firm. The firm has fifteen Directors and more than seventy staff members across three offices in North Wales and Cheshire. We will continue into the future with the firm’s long standing ethos which nurtures home grown talent whilst at the same time gradually introducing new members to ensure our advisers are the leaders in their specialist fields.

We offer a wide range of legal services including: Civil Law, Commercial Law, Conveyancing, Court of Protection, Criminal Law, Employment Law, Family Law, Wills and Probate, Personal Injury and Welfare Rights.
