In 1976 Herefordshire was very short of gardens opening to the public and we were persuaded to include Abbey Dore. Two giant sequoias and the River Dore were its main features. Over the last forthy years we have been trying to make a proper garden. This now covers about eight acres including a walled garden full of plants and shrubs and plenty of places to sit. There are many other different areas and an ever changing variety of herbaceous perennials. The garden is constantly changing with the seasons.
The Stables Tearoom is open alongside the Garden for coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea using as much local and organic food as possible.
