University of the West of England, Bristol

The University of the West of England, Bristol is a public university located in and around Bristol, United Kingdom. The institution began as the Merchant Venturers Navigation School in 1595 alongside the University of Bristol and University of Bath, before receiving its university status in 1992.UWE Bristol is made up of several campuses in Bristol and the West Country. Frenchay Campus is the largest campus in terms of student numbers. It provides for most of the institution's courses, including Education which ranks 13th in the 2018 Complete University Guide.UWE Bristol City Campus provides courses in the creative and cultural industries, and is made up of Bower Ashton Studios, Arnolfini, Spike Island, and Watershed. The institution is affiliated with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and validates its higher education coures. The Royal West of England Academy also forms part of the university.UWE Bristol at Glenside is home to most of the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, while nursing and midwifery courses are based at Gloucester Campus. Hartpury Campus provides training in animal sciences, sport, equine, agriculture and conservation.
