The Tinklers Butchers is family owned business that proudly has over three generations working within it.

Founder and Master Butcher / Sausage Maker Rob Tinkler has over 50yrs butchery experience and has worked in Stafford for 32yrs. Rob has worked in the trade since he was 15 years old and is passionate about his produce and loves finding excellent products from dedicated farmers.

We opened in 1985 and were very quickly welcomed and embraced by the local community. It was always part of our plan, and company ethos, that our shops would be part of the community. We have strived to ensure that Tinklers Butchers holds its position as a traditional British butcher’s, with a modern feel. All our customers get close to the Butchers and watch their meat being cut and prepared as they chat and pass the time of day. As local butchers shop we can be responsive and attentive to our customer’s specific needs in a way that is not possible for a large supermarket or chain.

The full selection of Beef, Lamb, Pork and Poultry is prepared fresh on a daily basis, and on any given day it is likely that our endless array of Sausages and Burgers are being made in the back of the shop. Although the shop only allows a minimal amount of space for deli products, we stock in cooked hams, turkey, beef, legendary wright’s pies and sausage rolls and locally produced British Mature Cheddar Cheese.

With over 50 years of butchering experience and skills we can offer our customers a full range of cuts trims and presentations to ensure that your choice for dinner party, Sunday Roast or indulgent steak for supper looks and tastes perfect. We work with the whole animal so can offer help, cooking advice along with a wide selection that will help you to get the best match for your budget or the recipe you want to cook. You will always get better value and less waste buying the exact amount you need rather than shrink wrapped packages at a set weight.

At Tinklers Butchers we only select the best suppliers so our customers can be confident that the meat they buy from us is not only good eating but comes from a traceable source where the animals have had a wholesome lifestyle, enjoyed high welfare standards and a good diet. One of the most appealing aspects to a traditional butcher’s shop is the transparency for the customer. You can see the product and watch it being prepared. Nothing is hidden and you can ask questions and get advice at the same time.

Tinklers Butchers is open Tuesday to Saturday each week with extended opening times during the Christmas Season.

We are offering a free local home delivery each day between 2pm – 4pm (minimum order £50). We are now also taking orders via our contact form.
