The Phoenix was originally built in 1972. Before this, The Phoenix was constructed on the ground of a Patton's Pub. After a number of years, Peter McCool embarked on a new project which can now been seen as the current shop that sits on the Antrim Road, Ballymena.
With the turn of the millennium, The Phoenix rose up from the old petrol station with the new petrol tanks and shop being built.
The shop has now been a huge success, with a number of awards and accolades. In 2015, The Phoenix was awarded the Neighborhood Store of the Year. The Store and Post Office hold extremely high standards when it comes to customer service. When coming to McCool's Centra, you can be guaranteed the high quality of service which will never fail to deliver a fantastic impression and shopping experience!!
Furthermore, The Phoenix has always taken a great interest in giving back to the community. In 2015 alone, the shop raised over £6000 for a number of charities, including; Action Cancer, Make A Wish, and MS Society. In three days, The Phoenix raised more than £900 for Multiple Sclerosis with the huge success of the Coffee Mornings (in which staff baked and donated to help the cause).
