The Bournemouth Youth Theatre

Since 1996 The Bournemouth Youth Theatre has supported and inspired local talent by offering students between the ages of 2 - 18
professional and affordable training in performing arts:
Singing, Dancing, Acting and Musical Theatre.
Our team are industry professionals with many years experience in their specialist field.

The School is renowned for its fun, friendly and 'family like' reputation and we are extremely proud to have the talented and inspiring
Timmy Matley from The Overtones as our School Patron.

The BYT is a place for your child to feel safe and secure allowing them to fully explore their creativity.

We passionately believe that every student should have their moment to shine so everyone is welcome, regardless of ability, no audition necessary, we even offer FREE trial sessions.

The BYT is proud to say that many of its previous students have continued to pursue a career in the performing arts. We currently have students studying at National Youth Music Theatre, Rose Bruford, Guildford School of Acting, London School of Musical Theatre, American Musical Theatre Academy, BIMM, Jellicoe theatre and a variety of universities studying; Theatrical make-up, drama, musical theatre and television production.

The Bournemouth Youth Theatre Main Saturday School Times and Stages:

The BYT Juniors - 4 - 8 yrs (Reception - Year 3)
Saturday afternoons: 2:00 - 5:00pm

The BYT Intermediates - 7 -13 yrs (Year 4 - Year 8)
And
The BYT Seniors - 13 - 18 yrs (Year 9 - A Level)
Saturday afternoons: 1:00 - 5:00pm

£170 per 12 week term


The BYT Introductory class:

Mini Movers ~ For children aged 2 - 4 ~ Join us at The Good Play Cafe on Thursday mornings at 10:00 - 10:45am.


The BYT Advanced Training:

MTC is held on Thursday evenings 8 - 9pm, for students aged 15+
(13+ for BYT Students)
MTC is for those wishing to develop their talent, technique and performance skills further, to gain a greater understanding of theatre and the performance industry.
