Shireen Blacklaws - Childminder

I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Clevedon, North Somerset. I am fully CRB checked and hold a valid paediatric first aid certificate.

I live in a three bedroom semi- detached house with my partner and 18 month old daughter. We have a large, secure, child friendly garden. There are plenty of outdoor toys (trampoline, slide, swings, sand pit, and covered paddling pool) and it is also a great space for messy play!!

Myself and my daughter love being out and about, as well as the garden, we also live a couple of minutes from the local sports fields and a park so we have plenty of opportunities to be outdoors.

I have been fortunate to be able to stay home with my daughter and my aim is to make other parents feel more comfortable about returning to work by ensuring that at all times their children are safe and having lots of fun!

I am mother to an 18 month old girl, and have two nieces and two nephews ranging from 12 years to 9 months. I have always loved being around children and since becoming a mother, can’t imagine doing anything else, hence my change in career.

I will shortly be undergoing a foundation course in Makaton, as myself and my daughter have got so much out of the signing that we already do, and I would love to build on that.

CACHE understanding how to set up a home childcare business
Paediatric First Aid certificate
Food hygiene certificate
Enhanced CRB certificate

I am available all year round, including bank holidays. Daily hours are open to negotiation. I will be unavailable on Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

My rate is £4 per hour (£6 on bank holidays) and will include meals and snacks, arts and crafts materials, and nappies (if required).
All lunchtime meals and snacks are included in my hourly rate and are healthy and homemade and always include plenty of fresh fruit and veg. Special dietary requirements can be catered for on request.
