My passion is life, my other passion is photography, so naturally I love photographing anything and everything,
I have tried to specialize, but when I romp up a mountain to do a landscape with a wide angle ill see someone sat somewhere and want to photograph them too, trouble is I'm not carrying a portrait lens!
I’m an opportunist as well as a planner, some shoots I go over and over in my head, until the day I shoot, I get ideas this way so when I shoot it’s not just one shot, its several and can be seen in other ways. Adopting this approach also helps the results appealing to a wider ordinance as there are a number of different images. ‘Photography is subjective’.
But on the other hand the shot 'Every little helps' was not planned in anyway, the chance of the rubbish and a subject with similar shopping bags was a rare opportunity, the moment was there for anyone to see! I just captured it, I could have waited for all day for that shot, and it may have still not happened.

The shots of my very special little granddaughter rolled around in my head for days even months, how to get the lighting right, how I wanted it to look. People are so much fun to capture; we all have something to offer the lens,

Portraits and weddings are always fun, they will inevitably throw some kind of challenge at the lens, this is where I encapsulate it, capture it, then it is never lost, the monochrome shot of my granddaughter with sunglasses was not planned, we were not doing Moody shots!

When I capture inanimate objects they are very often planned, if I know the object is not going anywhere I will often return when lighting is more desirable, the abundance of this type of subject matter is never ending, sometimes it’s hard to focus on anything other than photography, or travel from A To B without having to stop, not a real problem on my own, but can be frustrating for my passengers.

I am a perfectionist, this used to affect my work flow and productivity, but over the years I have learned to use it to my advantage, I no longer see it as limiting, more of a gift, I just want things right for myself, and you my customers.
