RSPCA Putney Animal Hospital

The Putney Animal Hospital provides veterinary services primarily for the use of our Inspectorate and for sick and injured unowned animals.

Every year a large number of needy animals are admitted, mostly cats and dogs, but can include rabbits, birds, reptiles and amphibians, as well as wildlife casualties such as foxes, water birds, raptors and snakes. Many of these animals are brought to the hospital by members of the public, as well as RSPCA inspectors and animal welfare officers.

We provide veterinary care for these animals from repairing fractures and treating wounds to blood tests and vaccinations, ensuring they are in good health to be rehomed through our network of animal centres. Please note we do not rehome directly from the hospitals.

In addition we provide a limited, reduced cost, subsidised service for clients who meet certain requirements.

Our eligibility criteria has been updated and we now only see new animals of clients on the following benefits:
Income Support (IS)
Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Pension Credit (NOT state pension)
OR equivalent Universal Credit

All clients, old or new, have to show proof of benefits, proof of address and photo ID every time they attend the hospital to ensure ongoing eligibility.

We are open between 9am to 5pm. You must phone ahead and make an appointment by calling us on 0300 123 0716. Except in the case of genuine emergencies if you turn up without an appointment you are likely to have a long wait.

We offer an emergency service for eligible clients at other times, which is for genuine emergencies only; you should call in advance. There are additional fees for this service, which are higher between 10pm-8am.
