More about Rattray Art Festival

The Rattray Art Festival was successfully established in August 2010. The idea crystallised during the long winter months as the organiser was house bound, snowed in with a large flock of sheep and yearning for a bit of cultural stimulation. She and a friend started from scratch, contacting any artists whose pictures caught their eye, and found great enthusiasm for the idea. The inaugural festival attracted a huge variety of works from both the well established, well known artist community as well as talented emerging amateur artists who enjoyed the prestige of hanging their works in a gallery environment.

The works on show include all types of paintings, photographs, sculptures, wood carving, prints, as well as notecards and CDs.

The artists generously agreed to contribute 20% of their sales direct to The RNLI. Following the great success of this it was decided that a local charity should also share in the charitable proceeds. Therefore in 2011 Wisecraft, a local mental health charity and part of PKAVS began to benefit jointly with the RNLI. In 2012 the same two charities benefited but in 2014 we have decided to support Wisecraft and the new Perth based Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The Rattray Art Festival is wholly funded through local sponsorship, goodwill and the hard work of the organisers.

The Rattray Art Festival was found to attract a diverse range of people from those who had never set foot in an Art Gallery previously to those more accustomed to the art world.
