The Penang Cottage Restaurant in Southgate serves modern Malaysian, Nyonya & Chinese cuisine delivering the freshness of up to date oriental food to your table. Penang is famous throughout the Far East for its food, based on Nyonya traditions – the traditions of the first local Chinese immigrants to Malaya, who combined their original cuisine from South China with the cookery of the local Malay population. The Penang Cottage’s menu is based on the dishes served up in local family homes as well as those provided in the hawker markets throughout the city while, continuing the spirit of local modification, incorporating some Western influences. The menu has also incorporated some recent Chinese influence to provide a striking and balances choice.
