Pain Inkorporated was conceived the summer of 1998 by John Federis and a fellow artist and bandmate, Chris Santos. John was in senior year in highschool then when they opened the shop near Torres High School in Gagalangin, Tondo. Everything was DIY! Handmade rotary machines, needles were soldered together every-fucking-day. Inks then were all powder. Supplies were very limited and so a couple of months, John had to stop tattooing and pursue college where he took up Fine Arts.
12 years later, supplies were finally abundant and the tattoo industry was blooming and flourishing as ever. John then decided to pick up where he left and relearned the art again, from the beginning. And a year later, Pain Inkorporated was reborn. Doing mostly black and grey and custom designed tattoo works.
John also does commission works for traditional media for various clients and was a regular contributor to the children's macabre themed online magazine, Underneath the Juniper Tree.
