North West Speech Therapy

Why?
Communication is vital to childrens learning, as well as their social and emotional wellbeing.
Who?
NWSLT supports children with S&L issues including:
Attention and listening
Understanding language
Using language (limited vocabulary/ sentences)
Speech sound delay/unclear speech
Social interaction/Play
Down Syndrome
Learning difficulties
Stammering
How?
Initial Appointment: Includes a comprehensive case history so the SLT can understand the child as well as learning about the parents views. Informal and formal assessments will be delivered in a postive and sensitve manner. There is no obligation for further appointments.
Therapy sessions:
An individual treatment plan to suit the child and parents needs in the childs home or education setting. Usually weekly for 6-8 weeks but this can be reevaluated at any time. Sessions will be fun, motivating and interactive. Therapy works best when activities are continued throughout everyday activities. Ideas for this will be demonstrated.
