New Milton Memorial Centre

The New Milton Memorial Centre is a Registered Charity. The Centre is managed and organised by a group of Trustees and a Management Committee who administer the facility on behalf of the Residents of New Milton, Barton on Sea, Ashley and Bashley, who are the ultimate owners of the facility.

The original War Memorial Hall was built in 1921 to commemorate those who died during the Great War. The Declaration of Trust, most recently amended in 1974, states that the Hall should be used as a Community Centre for the educational, social and recreational purposes for the inhabitants of the parish of New Milton. The original Hall burnt down in about 1979 and the existing Hall was built from the compensation in about 1981.

As part of that legacy to the people of New Milton, a separate Memorial Room was built within the Centre, which remembers those of its citizens who gave their lives in the service of our country in both world wars. Also remembered are those who lost their lives in a two bombing raids on New Milton during the Second World War.
