With an excellent tiered seating arrangement, the Mumford Theatre is able to boast an enviable reputation for offering a good view from all 270 of its seats.
The theatre opened in 1970 as the "College Auditorium" at Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology (CCAT). When the then Principal, Deryck Mumford, retired in 1977 the theatre was renamed in his honour at a gala performance of Menotti's opera 'The Consul'.
The Mumford Theatre now forms part of the Faculty of Arts, Law & Social Sciences within Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
