Midland Swim School is a dedicated team of highly-qualified swimming instructors, led by experienced coach, Pam Hadlington.
Pam's first session was in 2009 at the indoor pool at the prestigious Edgbaston High School for Girls, in one of Birmingham's leafiest suburbs.
It was one of the Midland Swim School's Summer Intensive Weeks, and it was started with five swimmers. We must have done something right. Word spread and numbers grew. Today we are working with children that go to many different schools
across Birmingham.
If you have a son or daughter who is reluctant to enter the water. Don't worry, Midland Swim School is very sensitive to nervous swimmers, so we make sure that instructors are in the water with the them at all times.
This helps to build their confidence and also helps provide, what we call, 'eye-level teaching'. This aids their understanding and enjoyment of the water. We see the end result - students growing in confidence and ability.
We keep classes small - 6 children in each class. We take swimmers from the age of 4 upwards.
All children follow the award-winning Learn to Swim and National Plan Awards, which are for technique and multi skills. From Beginner Class to the Top Class, children will also attain awards badges for distance swimming.
Making use of the lanes for all of our groups enables each teacher the flexibility of working and traveling along the pool without disturbing other classes – thus pushing the stamina of all of the other groups.
Pam Hadlington also works as a Senior Swimming Teacher, running classes for Pre-Natal Aqua Yoga Classes, Baby Swimming, Toddlers and at Chessgrove Swim.
Pam is also a teacher at Bromsgrove School Swim Academy as a
National Pool Life Saver and is also an instructor for Disability Swimming and ASA/FTA teaching.
