"I have worked with many photographers over the last twenty years; this comes mainly from making performance art and needing someone to record my work. However I have never really thought about having my picture taken in terms of them being something to hang on a wall, I don’t really have the face for it!
My wife had some photos taken for me when we got married a few years ago and for Christmas this year, for a bit of fun, I thought that I would return the gesture and have some taken for her. I’ve never seen myself as a model, so when I approached Lucas he asked me about my style and the things that I was into, music etc. He asked me to bring along a few things, clothes and favourite outfits.
I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to look like, I’m a bit of an old Mod so I do have my idols, never the less it’s always different on paper, and the camera never lies, if you know what I mean!
I worked with Lucas for about an hour and a half and in that time I was so amazed by the images that he was creating. After the conversations that we had had regarding what I’d like, he had obviously taken on board all the ideas that were important to me, and well, just made them ten times better!
There’s no doubt that he has a wonderful eye and a very creative flair, the images were perfect and quite frankly so much stronger than anything I could have imagined. I couldn’t believe it was me in the images. During the shoot Lucas made me feel very comfortable and was constantly asking for my ideas and thoughts and then putting his own unique angle on everything.
I must say that I have now found my photographer for every occasion. My wife is having a baby soon so Lucas will take the images of her and the baby. She was, by the way very happy with her photos of me, and I was over the moon with them. Thank you so much Lucas."
