I first registered as a Childminder with Ofsted in February 2006 and July 2015 opened up my registration to allow for the possibilities of providing home care as a Nanny.

Being a stay at home mum and becoming a Childminder has allowed me the flexibility with not only my own children, but for families who come to use the child care service I provide.

Other than being a parent for almost 15 years and a Childminder for 10 years, I worked for 18 months as a Sure Start Crèche Support Worker for Barnardos. This provided me with an invaluable insight on how another setting worked, but also gave me additional knowledge and experience.

I have full insurance for inside and outside of the setting, I've had a fully enhanced CRB check, have had paediatric first aid training and attend meetings, and up to date training sessions. Further to this I have the ICP, DHC and NVQL3 certificates.

I provide activities for all age groups, but always look to adapt these and my setting so that children of all ages and abilities may participate.

Activities are planned in conjunction with a child's developmental needs and in line with EYFS, and the requirements of Ofsted.

I do provide a home environment where there are many toys and books available. There are lots of DVD's, cd's, games consoles to play with too. Whilst all of this is available I do ensure that children are not sat in front of these every hour of every day. We venture out in all weathers. I have a large secure garden to play in with toys, a playhouse and trampoline. There are days out too.
