Klub-17

Hi my name is Emma and I run Klub-17.

I began this concept after raising my own two sons and working as a counsellor with young adults I quickly realised that between the age of 13-17 there really was nothing for them to do of an evening or holidays that didnt involve being stuck behind a screen or hanging out on the street.
So after a lot of research I decided I wanted to start a project that gave young adults not only a fun place to socialise and hang out of an evening but also during the holidays.
Right now i am starting with a club night which will have a resident DJ but also offer young kids to pitch their mixes to win an hour slot on the night, this will be live streamed so they can show their skills off to their friends.
I will also be offering dance competitions and various other events throughout the year to get young people involved.
Any ideas are welcomed and considered.

My next project will be to open a youth centre which incorporates life skills, work shops and socialising. Working together with schools and businesses to support youngsters in life.

For Private Hire of VIP Area, there needs to be a minimum of 20 people.

Resident DJ Playing all the latest club tunes.. Feel free to submit your own requests.
Dress Code: Dress to impress but no tracksuits or Hoodies

PARENTS - Guidance And Event Terms & Conditions:

Dress Code:
No clothing with offensive slogans are permitted at any Klub-17 events, due to there being under age teenagers at the event, anyone turning up will not be allowed entry and no refund given if ticket already purchased.
Ideally smart clothing needs to be worn but our main concept is that you feel comfortable in who you are, the only clothing not suitable will be tracksuits and hoodies.

Alcohol & Drugs Policy:
Drugs and alcohol are not tolerated. Only soft drinks are on sale at our venues. Any young person caught consuming alcohol or drugs will be refused entry or asked to leave and no refund given. All bars will have alcohol removed for Klub-17 events. We will, wherever possible, try to contact parents or guardians to collect their child or children, if they are found under the influence.

Searches:
The Klub-17 have a search procedure will take place before entry to the club/venue. Searches take place primarily for weapons, alcohol, illegal substances & cigarettes. If any of the above are found they will be confiscated and parents may be called. Any young person refusing to be searched before entry will not be permitted. All legal issues surrounding searching teenagers are strictly adhered to.

Age Restrictions:
Our target age group is 13-17. Any persons wishing to gain entry to Klub-17 events who look over age will be asked to produce ID. We will not permit any person over the age of 17 entry to our events other than persons employed by Klub-17 or the venue.

Smoking:
Club-17 operates a NO SMOKING policy. Cigarettes will not be sold at the event, so under age persons will not be allowed to purchase them.

Bullying:
Klub-17 require all persons in the events to treat the venue and others with respect at all times. A strict anti-bullying policy will operate, and if we discover any persons intimidating others or using inappropriate language will not gain entry, or if inside the event, then they will be escorted from the venue.

Photographs:
Klub-17 like to encourage youngsters in their passions, so we will be asking young photographers to email an interest in being our photographer for the evening. Clive Thompson Photography, will take pictures of young people at our events. These pictures can be obtained by visiting the website after each event. By entering Klub-17 events you give us consent to take your picture, record video footage or sound for the purpose of our Klub-17 website and Facebook page. Persons not wishing to have their picture taken or recorded must inform a member of staff on entry to all Klub-17 events.

Staff:
Klub-17 employ polite, friendly staff around the venue. All staff are DBS checked and include qualified security and a school counsellor who are there to assist or help young people who may have a problem or incident that they might want to discuss. No matter how small the problem may be Klub-17 staff will always be on hand to assist young people.

My main aim is for young people to have a place to go where they feel safe and accepted. And parents know their children are cared about.
