Kate's Handmade Weddings

Hello! If you’re planning to get married in the Lake District, anywhere else in Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Lancashire or Northumberland, then I’m here to help make your big day really special.

Kate’s Handmade Weddings was created by me, Kate Midgley, and my partner, Steve Manders of I Do Wedding Catering, after we found that we were getting lots of enquiries from clients looking for help with their wedding in general, and not just the food (it’s great food, by the way!). Whether it was suggestions for cake suppliers, or help with finding anything from table decorations to venues, we realised that we had amassed all sorts of knowledge and we really could help. So after lots of careful planning and research, we decided to set up Kate’s Handmade Weddings. My previous work and experience seemed to fit the skills needed: I have worked with all sorts of people, I have planned and run lots of events, I am creative, working in textile and craft design and music, and I’ve even found houses for people – all of these seemed to be transferable skills. On top of all that, I love weddings, especially seeing people in love and happy. What a privilege to be able to help make people’s wedding day dreams come true!
