Hornsea Fire Station Community

Hornsea Fire Station was founded in 1965 and has been serving the people of Hornsea and the surrounding villages ever since. It's crews operate the retained duty system meaning they are on call for anything up to 100 hours a week while maintaining full time employment elsewhere and respond to incident by pager at any time of day or night. In resent years the introduction of the Emergency First Response Car (EFR Car) has been implemented as part of a partnership arrangement between the Fire and Rescue service and the NHS Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Fire Fighter now co-respond with Ambulance Crews to medical emergencies withing their station area putting their first aid and trauma skill to good use.

The crew at Hornsea Fire Station work hard within the town to foster great relations with ever part of the community. As part of their fund raising activities, Hornsea's band of fire fighters run an annual golf AM-AM competition with the aim of raising funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, The Fire Fighter Charity and other deserving local charities, good causes and organisations.

Over the years the good people of Hornsea and the surrounding villages have demonstrated their generosity of spirit by donating thousands of pounds at the events organised by or attended by the towns Fire Fighters that has all gone to the deserving charities the sponsor.
