Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) training is continual professional development which carries on throughout a professional bus, coach or lorry driver’s career. It was introduced in 2003 by EU Directive 2003/59/EC.
All drivers, new and existing, now have to undertake 35 hours of training every five years to ensure that their Driver CPC remains valid. The deadline for completing all 35 hrs of training for the drivers with acquired rights (those who were already a professional driver before certain dates) is September 2014 for HGV drivers, bus/coach drivers should have already completed their training by September last year . There are very few exemptions so now is the time to start your CPC training. Thousands of drivers have already started their CPC training, have you?
