Happy Hours Day Nursery

We are a small nursery operating in a converted house in the centre of Uttoxeter. Due to the nature of our building we are able to care for the children in small groups, catering for individual age groups:
Kittens:0=12 months
Cubs: 12-24 months
Tigers: 2-3 years
Lions: 3-4 years
Before and After School Club: 3-12 years
All staff have contact with all children and therefore, children feel safe and secure with staff other than their key person.
We have an outdoor play area to the rear, with a covered area allowing for free flow play throughout the day and a mud kitchen for messy play.The staff enjoy regular mud pies!
We also enjoy our regular visits to our Forest School site in Checkley, where the children enjoy playing in the forest, learning about nature, climbing and balancing, playing our hide and seek game and always enjoying our snacks and lunch which we cook over an open fire.
We work closely with the local schools offering before and after school care and wrap around care for children who attend Picknalls First School, St Joseph's Primary School and St Mary's First School. We also work in partnership with Thomas Alleynes High School as we accommodate students on work and community placements. We have enjoyed attending performances and special events they have put on for us and always welcome their support at our annual Nativity at St Mary's Church.
All our staff are qualified to Level 3 or above in addition to the Owner/Manager who has B.Ed (Hons), EYT and OCN Forest School Leader qualifications.
