More about Gloucestershire Youth Mini Bike Project - Cheltenham

The project in Cheltenham has been running since 31st October 2009 and events have been organised and run several times per month which has had a proven positive impact on the anti-social use of motor cycles in the Cheltenham area, reducing figures significantly. We have recently expanded the project to a site in Gloucester which started in May 2014.
We provide youths aged 6-16 somewhere to ride mini-motos in a legal, safe, insured and controlled environment, which many of them currently don’t have the availability or access to.
In addition the project will allow for a wide range of partner agencies to engage with youths in the community, whilst furthermore educating them of the consequences to riding anti-socially and teaching them important aspects of road safety.
The project is currently held twice a month. One on a Saturday morning located in Cheltenham and once on a Sunday morning located in Gloucester.
Aim One - To reduce the social disruption and safety concerns caused by the inappropriate and often illegal use of motorcycles in public areas and on the highway.
Aim Two - To provide a legal and safe place for young people to ride at an affordable cost to all. Each event is run by Auto Cycle Union Accredited staff with fully trained Clerks of the course, Mini bike Instructors and Marshalls working alongside volunteers from the community and parents.
Aim Three - To provide an opportunity to engage with youths, often from hard to reach areas where they have had only negative image or relationship with the police & other agencies, by providing them with positive role models, by steering them away from youth anti-social behaviour and crime, and by teaching them road safety, vehicle maintenance and safety, respect for
motor vehicles and for the people around them.
Aim Four - To improve the quality of life for all persons living in the Gloucestershire area and for all those visiting the area.

Meetings will be held on
prepared circuits under the control of qualified marshals.
A PARENT / GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE SESSION
Open to all children and young people aged 6-16 years, to be
accompanied by an adult
MEETINGS ARE CLASSED AS PRACTICE SESSIONS AND
ARE NOT COMPETATIVE RACES.
