About Me
Having worked in the city for 18 years in HR roles for Investment Banks and Professional services organisations, I decided in the Summer of 2015 to take a break from city life and focus on my work/life balance.

Fitness and healthy eating became a large part of my life about 4 years ago and helped me to manage the demands of my job, retain some balance in my life and importantly it gave me an outlet for any frustrations and stresses. It helped me feel more motivated and confident about myself and the challenges I was facing every day. Exercise actually felt like fun and the social aspect of local bootcamps and team events were (and still are!) so much fun.

How did I get back into Fitness?
Having been very active earlier in my life, competing at tennis and track & field athletics events, in addition to significant dance training 4 times a week, I decided to find an exercise option that would fit my lifestyle.
For me personally, I used to find gym environments intimidating and the opening hours and group sessions on offer did not fit in with my lifestyle needs 4 years ago when I decided to re-focus on my fitness levels.

So….I found myself a trainer who came to my home at days / times convenient to me, be it 5:45am or 8pm. He managed to work me very hard despite using a small space in my house, and quickly my fitness levels returned and I started to get stronger and leaner.

I also developed confidence with resistance training as well as really challenging myself in what I thought was my comfort zone of cardio work! After a few months, I gained the confidence to use a gym and attend some of their regular group classes, and I finally took the plunge and joined their boxercise classes. I discovered a huge enjoyment for Boxercise and loved the challenge, release and fun these sessions offered me. I have since trained as a Boxercise Instructor and Kids Boxercise Instructor as I truly believe this is an effective and fun full body workout for everyone !
More recently I have taken up Yoga which helps to create strength and flexibility as well as teaching me some calming breathing techniques.

Nutrition
Exercise is only one element of health and fitness, Nutrition is key to changing body shape and losing body fat.

In addition to exercising 3-4 times a week, I also took control of my diet by making the effort to prepare my food in advance (as much as possible), to ensure I was getting the right balance of nutritious foods. This doesn’t mean you have to completely change your diet, you will need to make some adjustments to get a manageable healthy diet that you enjoy and keeps you feeling satisfied throughout the day, preventing those sugar cravings most people get typically mid morning or mid afternoon.

Personal Training for you…how does it work?

With health and fitness now such a big part of my life, I was inspired me to complete my Personal Trainer qualification so I could offer the same support and motivation to other people in similar situations – I hear comments all the time about how people don’t have the time to exercise, think they should exercise for health reasons but don’t really want to, how they feel unhealthy, lethargic, fed up with their bodies, together with a common theme of feedback which is a desire to be able to exercise outside of a gym environment for either cost or confidence reasons.

Given my personal understanding of lifestyle challenges, I can help you to achieve your goals by:
• Training you in the comfort of your own home / garden / garage or a local outside area;
• Training you at times convenient to you and your lifestyle;
• and training you either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups if you have friends / family you prefer to train with.

…..and whatever type of training session you choose, I will make it fun and enjoyable and keep it interesting and challenging for you. I will get a smile from you in every session even when it feels really hard ! After all, it needs to be a challenge for you, if you are to achieve your goals.
