Fabago was established in 2016 after a trip to the Far East to visit family. What began as two weeks quality family time, however, ended up being something much different. Local culture and community was one of the focuses for our trip. As family already has connections with the locals – they were keen to introduce us! Whilst out socialising with new and old friends, we looked down and noticed we were sat on upcycled oil drums! The conversation quickly turned to this incredible furniture. The locals claimed that this the norm and that a trip to the factory could be easily organised.
A couple of days later, we were on our way to the factory. Upon arrival, the craftsmen greeted us with open arms and invited us in to look at their handmade furniture. We could simply not leave the factory without advocating their skills.
After arriving back home, Fabago Ltd was swiftly created. We made sure that our core credentials remained true to the craftsmen. Fabago aims to help local communities to better their lives and to promote the skill of upcycling furniture.
