I am a 19 year old undergraduate music student at the University of Chichester, majoring in Classical Piano and Classical Singing.
Prior to attending university, I was a member of the Okehampton College Senior Choir for 5 years, where I was a soloist for many concerts. Whilst at college, I studied classical singing for 7 years under Louise Mott (soloist with the English National Opera), and have attended three singing workshops with the Glyndebourne Opera Company whilst they were on tour in Plymouth. I am currently studying under Marcia Bellamy (Glyndebourne Opera) as part of my degree.
I am also a keen pianist and, although a relative latecomer to this instrument, achieved my ABRSM Grade 8 Piano after only four years of tuition. After discovering my love for the Piano, I spent three years at Okehampton College accompanying Junior Choir and other soloists in regular concerts. I have also accompanied members of the Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band at Solo Brass Band Competitions. I am now studying under Terence Allbright, a well known pianist and composer.
As well as majoring in piano and singing, I also hold my ABRSM Grade 6 Violin, and am an active member of the University of Chichester's prestigious Symphony Orchestra; we recently performed in a Gala Concert in Chichester Cathedral, playing Borodin's Polovtsian Dances and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
I also taught myself to play the Tuba, and have been an active member of Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band for five years. We compete on a regular basis in regional competitions, and have recently won the Deportment Prize for the third year running in the West of England Bandsmen's Festival at Bugle.
