Cockermouth Amateur Dramatic Society

CADS has a very open membership policy. There is no real “formal” membership: if you’re involved in any CADS activity, you’re a member and it doesn’t cost you anything. However we do have a constitution and a committee, which meets once a month, and consists of ten of us at the moment. There are the usual officers, of course, and some new roles which we have just introduced.

We see the committee very much as giving support to projects and ideas which come from individuals: finance, obviously, but all kinds and as much as is needed. We have produced, for example, a “Handbook” for Directors and Producers, primarily but not exclusively, aimed at people wanting to try either.

We have an Annual General Meeting in May, and of course anyone is welcome to join us. We usually have a meal, after the annual reports and election of the new committee.
