Central Cinema, Barnstaple

RAAM 'UK Independent Cinema of the Year' Award Winner, 2008.

The Central is the flagship cinema of the Scott Cinemas estate.

There are 4 screens, all of which are fully air conditioned. We have Digital projection in all screens, with 6 channel Digital sound. Screens 1 and 4 also have Dolby 3D.

Screen 1 has a 46' wide screen (in CinemaScope) making it the largest in the South West.

A scheme of refurbishment and modernisation was started in 2010, and recently concluded. We have a Cafe Bar in the top foyer, and care has been taken to ensure the better period features of the cinema survived and the traditional look has been carried through the cinema.

The Central is an extremely popular cinema. Construction of two additional screens on adjacent land is still planned for the future.
