More about Bristol Aero Club

The Bristol Aero Club was formed at Filton in 1994 as a "not for profit" flying club to promote an interest in flying as a social activity, building on the close association and historic interest in aviation at the aerospace companies on site. At the end of 2012, Filton Airport closed and the Club relocated to Cotswold Airport - a very friendly airfield on the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire border.

The Club is run by members - including many from the aerospace industry at Filton and membership contains a wealth of aviation knowledge and experience, including managers, airline pilots, aircraft designers and engineers as well as doctors, carpenters, drivers etc.

The Club (now a limited company) owns two well equipped Piper PA28 aircraft which are maintained to CAA regulations for flight training. The Club has an office on site which is used for "ground school", flight planning and pilot briefing.

The Club is able to offer members aircraft for hire and a full range of high quality flight training from qualified instructors for pilot licenses and ratings. There is also a strong social aspect to the Club where regular fly outs are arranged, taking our aircraft all over the UK as well as Europe.
